So you want to learn about ATV racing? Are you completely out of your mind? By definition, the term stands for all terrain vehicle – meaning the operating individual will more than likely be navigating through treacherous territory. If that wasn’t dangerous enough, these all terrain machines or quads can weigh several hundred pounds and have an affinity for landing on top of the rider. Within the sport there are several different divisions. From the bottom of the ladder up, there are several age divisions devoted to the young guns. As the age groups rise, the performance level of the vehicles runs parallel. Eventually, the skills required to enter a higher division increase.
As if the danger and pain were not enough, ATV racing can be extremely expensive. There is an ample amount of equipment one needs to acquire. From clothing to trailers, there is a ton of equipment that is needed to compete. A dynamic ATV racer won’t race without the right gear, meaning that even more money will be spent. This includes helmets, protective gear, and quality parts. When it comes to being successful, the best will tell you that it is imperative to use only the top of the line products. After adding up all of the gear, including the trailer, its easy to see how much money gets burned up. With that said, there are several more payments to be made. Those participating in the race have to pay a certain fee at the track in order to enter the competitions. After tacking on that fee, the gas to get to the track, and the repairs – the list starts to get extensive and many are discouraged from the sport.
So far we have only discussed the negative aspects of the sport. Now it is time to bring light to the positive features. Racing these speed demons can satisfy even the most extreme adrenaline junkies. ATV racing really is quite the thriller. The high speeds, towering jumps, and hairpin turns are quite exhilarating.
